Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes is casting as the four Beatles in his four separate but intertwined biopics of the legendary lads from Liverpool.

As readers know, in our January 6 issue we predicted that Mendes had chosen Irish actors Paul Mescal, 29, and Barry Keoghan, 32, to play Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, respectively. He picked Englishmen Harris Dickinson, 28, to take on the challenge of portraying John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn, 31, to be George Harrison, Sony announced.

The studio revealed all four pictures will be released in April 2028 under the title The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event.

This is the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles — Paul and Ringo, and the families of John and George — have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.
