Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston may still be close friends, but a source exclusively tells the National Enquirer that the longtime collaborators are finding themselves on opposite sides of one of Hollywood’s biggest debates: artificial intelligence.
“Jen’s worst nightmare is that the 10-year body of work she and her Friends castmates created gets turned into a stupid AI app that lets anybody insert themselves into an episode,” a source says. “But Reese sees an opportunity here, and she has invested in the AI world.”
For Aniston, 57, “it comes down to preserving the TV work she killed herself to make when she was a young woman,” the source shares. “She hates that it could easily get turned into ‘AI slop’ at the touch of a button.”
However, Witherspoon, 50, is taking a much different approach. Instead of fearing the technology, the Cruel Intentions star sees AI as more than just a passing trend and something that Hollywood shouldn’t ignore.

“Reese is taking a different, longer term view on the issue, and she knows there’s real money to be made in AI for Hollywood talent willing to engage with it,” the source says.
“That puts her and Jen at odds on the subject, but for now they have no choice but to agree to disagree, and like everybody else, see where all of this goes,” the source explains. “But right now it’s clear that Jen sees this technology as potentially a lot more harmful than Reese does.”
Despite their opposing views, the source tells the National Enquirer that neither actress is willing to let the disagreement affect their working relationship.
“They still have to make The Morning Show for Apple, a company with its own direct interest in AI,” the source notes.
