President Trump Reportedly Fires Attorney General Pam Bondi Amid Epstein Files Backlash
President Donald Trump has reportedly fired Attorney General Pam Bondi.
CNN reported the news on Thursday, April 2, and claimed that for now she’ll be replaced with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for the time being.
As the National Enquirer previously reported, Trump, 79, had recently become frustrated with how the administration had handled the Jeffrey Epstein files and had allegedly asked people about ousting Bondi, 60.
According to the Daily Mail, Bondi had begged the former reality star not to fire her from the position, but he went through with the decision and informed her shortly before he addressed the nation regarding the current conflict in Iran.
“She was unhappy and tried to change his mind,” a source told the publication at the time.
Trump’s decision to abruptly remove her was partly driven by his belief that Bondi alerted Eric Swalwell to the FBI’s plans to release documents tied to his alleged connection with a Chinese spy.
“She’s intervening in those matters,” the source continued to the Daily Mail. “The White House wasn’t pleased she was intervening due to her personal friendship with Swalwell.”
As of now, Trump has not officially addressed Bondi’s reported firing or the reasons behind it.
