Popular Beauty Influencer Dead at 38 Years Old After Undergoing Cosmetic Surgery in Moscow

The sudden death of influencer Yulia Burtseva shocked the online beauty community after news broke that she had died at the age of 38.

Burtsev underwent cosmetic surgery at a private clinic in Moscow on Sunday, January 4, according to Russian news outlet MSK1. Her passing has sparked an official investigation as authorities work to determine whether medical negligence played a role.

Shortly after the surgery, Burtseva’s condition reportedly deteriorated. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died. Russian investigators have since opened a criminal case, seizing medical records and ordering forensic examinations as part of their probe.

“Investigators from the Moscow Investigative Committee are working at the scene,” a translated statement by the Moscow Investigative Committee and obtained by MSK1 read. “Necessary official and medical records will be seized shortly. A number of forensic examinations, including a medical one, are being ordered.”

The Italian-based influencer was known for sharing glimpses of her family life and beauty routines with tens of thousands of followers on social media. Just hours before the procedure, Burtseva reportedly posted content from a Moscow cafe.

Burtseva’s social media was flooded with tributes after fans learned of her death.

“It’s a pity, the girl without a mother is left, the husband without a beautiful wife,” one Instagram user wrote in a translated message.

Burtseva is survived by her husband, Giuseppe, and their daughter.
