Nancy Pelosi had people scratching their heads when the former Speaker of the House made an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar party over the weekend.
Pelosi, 85, stopped and posed for photographs on the red carpet with her husband, Paul, also 85.
“It was wonderful,” Pelosi said, giving her thoughts on the 98th Annual Academy Awards to USA Today on Sunday, March 15.
“I’m so excited about it because we needed this very much tonight,” she continued. “It’s a time when the arts have a stronger role than ever to bring us all together to laugh, to cry, to be inspired, and the rest, and to see the excellence of it all.”

Several people were confused as to why the longtime politician was even there.
“Who sent her an invitation?” one person wrote via Facebook.
Another added, “Who paid her to go?”
A third person wrote via X, “And this is why nobody listens to people in Hollywood…they are in on the grift.”
According to Vanity Fair, Pelosi and her husband chatted with I Love LA star Rachel Sennott and Industry’sMyha’la.
This isn’t the first time the former House Minority Leader has made an appearance at Hollywood’s biggest night: She also attended the Oscars in 2023.
