Move over, Taylor Swift — the original Queen of Pop is taking her crown back!
Madonna is going back to her roots with her new dance album, a source tells the National Enquirer.
“Madonna is a very competitive and driven person and still feels as creative and passionate as ever,” the source says of the music icon, 67.
“The industry wants to write her off because of her age, but if anything it’s made her even more motivated to prove herself,” adds the source.
The Material Girl has returned to Warner Records, which released some of her biggest hits, and will drop her new album — the first since 2019 — next year.
“I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations,” she announced in a statement, per Rolling Stone.

“The goal is to remind everyone that she’s still ‘got it’ in every sense of the word,” says the source.
The “Hung Up” singer still feels like she’s “20-something” and believes she can compete with younger artists like the 35-year-old “Bad Blood” singer, who is poised to break Madonna’s record as the all-time bestselling female artist with her upcoming release, The Life of a Showgirl, per the U.S. Sun.
“Madonna is truly a trailblazer and she’s convinced she can blow everyone away,” adds the source. “Taylor can be the princess of pop, but Madonna wants to prove she’ll always the queen.”
