Kevin Federline Admits Rosie O’Donnell, Jimmy Kimmel’s Mockery ‘Hurt’ Amid Britney Spears Divorce

Kevin Federline is reflecting on a tough time in his life.

In Federline’s new memoir, You Thought You Knew, the former backup dancer, 47, detailed the “public ridicule” he endured from A-listers after Britney Spears filed for divorce from him in November 2006.

“What stung was when people in the industry, the so-called Hollywood elites, jumped on the bandwagon without knowing me at all,” Federline wrote in his book, according to Us Weekly.

“When someone like Ben Stiller or Rosie O’Donnell makes a jab, it feels personal,” he continued. “It’d be one thing if they were strangers, but these were people in the same world, people who should understand how damaging words can be.”

“They had no clue who I really was,” he added, “yet still felt entitled to publicly judge me.”

The day after Spears, 44, filed for divorce, O’Donnell, 63, celebrated the news on The View.

“Britney Spears is leaving K-Fed!” O’Donnell exclaimed before confetti cannons went off in the studio. “Let me just say on behalf of a happy America: Welcome back, Britney! We love you!”

Federline also called out Jimmy Kimmel in his book for mocking him.

“Hearing Jimmy Kimmel or whoever else make a joke at my expense did bother me,” Federline admitted, according to Us Weekly. “It wasn’t devastating, but it was frustrating. It made me feel like I was stuck in this caricature, like my life was some kind of Jerry Springer episode for people to laugh at.”

When Kimmel, 57, hosted the American Music Awards in 2006, he made multiple jabs at Federline’s music career. The late-night host even had a Federline lookalike doll placed inside a wooden crate then tossed into the ocean.

“That moment summed up how the industry treated me, like I was something to be laughed at, thrown away and forgotten,” Federline penned. “That hurt. It’s one thing to deal with the tabloids, but it’s another when the ridicule comes from people you once respected or people who should know better.”
