Jennifer Aniston’s Pals Worry Her Fame Is ‘Doing All the Heavy Lifting’ for Jim Curtis’ Book Promo

Jennifer Aniston‘s latest public show of support for boyfriend Jim Curtis has sparked concern with some of her close friends, according to a new report.

Curtis’ upcoming book event in New York City has the public shelling out more than $100 a ticket to attend, but a source told Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Tuesday, July 21, that it’s beginning to seem like Aniston, 57, is the main attraction – not the book.

“Whenever Jennifer Aniston shows up, she becomes the event,” a source told Shuter. “The question everyone in Hollywood is asking is simple: Is this a book signing… or a Jennifer Aniston appearance disguised as one?”

Another source told the outlet that the Morning Show star’s friends aren’t discrediting Curtis’ talent, they’re just worried “that Jennifer’s fame is doing all the heavy lifting.”

“Her friends are fiercely protective of her, and some think the lines between supportive girlfriend and marketing strategy are starting to blur,” the source continues.

However, other sources close to the couple disagree that Curtis, 50, is cashing in on Aniston’s fame for his own benefit.

“Jennifer wanted to be there,” a separate source told Naughty But Nice. “Nobody twisted her arm. She believes in Jim, she’s proud of him, and she’s happy to support his work.”

Curtis and Aniston met through mutual friends in early 2025, and he previously said during a January appearance on Today that the two “just started to chat,” per People.

In July 2025, the couple was spotted vacationing in Spain with Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka. On Curtis’ birthday in November of that same year, he and Aniston became Instagram official when she shared a sweet tribute for his birthday.
