Home Alone actor Daniel Stern’s criminal case has been dismissed.

“The defendant did what he was supposed to do,” a rep for the Ventura County District Attorney told TMZ on Friday, February 6. “He completed his education class and earned a dismissal.”

“This is our standard disposition for first-time prostitution offenses,” they added.

Court officials told the outlet that attorneys for the actor — best known for playing Marv Murchins in Home Alone and its 1992 sequel — appeared in court Friday for the first time since he was charged in California last month with one count of soliciting prostitution.

The Ventura County D.A. brought the charges against the Bushwhacked actor, 68, on January 12 after he was issued a citation on December 10 for allegedly trying to hire an escort at a hotel in Camarillo, California.

Ventura County District Attorney spokesperson Joey Buttitta previously told People that Stern was cited at the location at the time of the incident but was released.

Though he was never formally arrested for the incident, prosecutors decided to file criminal charges after the fact.

Stern is perhaps best known for playing Marv — one of the “Wet Bandits” — opposite Joe Pesci in Home Alone.

After Stern’s charges made headlines, he was recast in a comedy pilot he was attached to that also starred Rachel Bloom, according to Deadline.
