George Clooney stepped out in Los Angeles on Thursday night to celebrate the premiere of his new film with Adam Sandler, but his appearance was what left fans talking online.
The 54-year-old actor was all smiles at the AFI Fest 2025 premiere of Jay Kelly, wearing a dark gray suit as he posed for photos alongside Sandler and co-star Riley Keough. While the evening marked a major moment for the film’s debut, many viewers were more focused on Clooney’s noticeably slimmer frame.
“Eat something, man,” one fan commented on social media, adding that the actor looked “105 pounds” and “like he’s withering away.”
Another fan speculated whether Clooney might be using weight-loss drugs, tweeting, “Is he taking the fat shots?”

Others remarked that he appeared “gaunt” and had an “Ozempic-skinny” look.
Despite the chatter, Clooney appeared to be in good spirits at the event and recently spoke about life as a dad to twins – son Alexander and daughter Ella, both 8 – and how fatherhood feels at his age.
“I’m 64, so you look back at everything, because the looking forward is harder,” he told People. “But I’m in a pretty comfortable place in life. I like what I do for a living, I have great friends, I spend time with people that I love, and I’ve been able and lucky enough late in life to be able to spend time with my family.”
Clooney’s wife, Amal, 47, a human rights lawyer, did not join him for the occasion. The couple raise their children on a farm in France.
Jay Kelly, a coming-of-age comedy directed by Noah Baumbach, hits select theaters on November 14 before heading to Netflix on December 5.
