Drug Dealer Who Hid Cocaine in Child’s Car Seat Jailed After Breaking Suspended Sentence

A man who avoided prison once, getting only a suspended sentence for dealing drugs, got caught again. This time, the judge wasn’t as forgiving.

In a press release shared by the U.K.’s West Yorkshire Police on Wednesday, August 12, Stephen Jackson, 27, of Holme Wood, England, was sentenced to four years and nine months at Bradford Crown Court on August 11 after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The latest charge followed a May 21 raid at Jackson’s home, less than a year after he was first caught with drugs. He had already been given a suspended sentence in December for a nearly identical offense.

That earlier case followed a July 2025 police raid at his home, where officers seized close to £20,000 — or nearly $27,000 — worth of cocaine, some of it hidden inside a baby’s car seat, according to the release.

Sgt. Charlie Smallwood of the Bradford South Neighborhood Policing Team didn’t hold back in his assessment of Jackson’s impact on the area. “Jackson is a blight on the community of Holme Wood selling Class A drugs,” Smallwood said in the official release. “He continued to sell drugs despite being given a suspended sentence. We welcome that he will now spend years in jail.”

Smallwood tied the case to a broader local effort to curb drug activity. “Drugs cause misery in communities and we are committed to getting them off the streets to make the streets safer,” he said. “This action is part of ongoing work as part of Operation Sweetgill to tackle criminality in the area.”
