Danny Masterson ‘Devoted to Proving His Innocence’ Behind Bars, Much to Ex Bijou Phillips’ Horror

Bijou Phillips is living in fear, say insiders, that her ex-husband Danny Masterson will soon get his rape conviction overturned and be set loose to torment her.

Sources say the idea that the 49-year-old actor could be out sends shivers down the spine of the 45-year-old beauty, who divorced the actor after 12 years of marriage and filed paperwork to legally banish his surname from their daughter Fianna, 11, per TMZ.

As the National Enquirer reported, Bijou’s move infuriated Masterson, and he’s itching to confront his ex and settle their unfinished business once he gets out.

“Danny is adamant he’s got a very good case and that the verdict was totally rigged to begin with,” says the insider.

“Every spare moment is devoted to proving his innocence. He’s spending a fortune on lawyers and praying this nightmare will be over at some time in 2026 and he’ll be a free man.”

“He hates how he’s been portrayed and abandoned by friends and family, and Bijou is obviously top of that list.”

“He was appalled that she changed their daughter’s name and hates how she rarely if ever comes to visit.”

As Enquirer readers know, the former That ’70s Show star has been rotting behind bars since May 2023, when he was convicted of two counts of forceable rape in the early 2000s and walloped with a sentence of 30 years to life.

Now, Danny is battling for a new trial in a recently filed petition charging his case was rigged against him and the jury didn’t hear his full side of the story. The sitcom actor also claims the jury was prejudiced against him by his devotion to Scientology when, his lawyer says, his faith “became a centerpiece of closing arguments” by prosecutors.

Insiders say the convicted gal abuser is highly optimistic his freedom efforts will soon succeed.

Meanwhile, Bijou has moved on to a serious romance with businessman Jamie Mazur, 44, who previously dated Victoria’s Secret beauty Alessandra Ambrosio, 44, and doesn’t want Danny out and wrecking her new life.

“She knows that Danny will be going after her any way he can if he gets the chance so it’s a concern,” says the source. “She’s worked so hard to rebuild her life — having Danny coming back to haunt her would be a nightmare!”
