A former Democratic congressman took a brutal swipe at PresidentDonald Trump while weighing in on the spotlight that’s been put on the president’s relationship with White House aide Natalie Harp.
Ossoff sparked backlash earlier this week during a campaign rally in Atlanta on Sunday, August 16, when he accused the Apprentice alum of neglecting his presidential duties while referencing the president traveling with Harp.
“He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”
When OutFront host Erin Burnett asked whether the controversy could benefit Ossoff’s political ambitions, Rose said Democrats should back away from personal attacks on Trump.
“Sure, absolutely. I mean, I think that the only thing any other Democrat should say is that Ossoff is wrong for physical reasons,” Rose explained. “Donald Trump probably couldn’t have an affair with anyone right now. That’s the line that these things should be going in.”
Rose added that Democrats need to show that they’re willing to aggressively fight back on Trump and the Republican Party.

“For so long, we have faced this Republican Party, which not only flaunts any rule, right, but does so almost with pride, right, and says the American people just don’t care,” he continued. “What people are looking at the Democrats to do now is to show that they have the guts to not leave any tool on the table in terms of their effort to beat this. That’s not a bad thing.”
As the National Enquirer previously reported, Ossoff’s original comments infuriated Trump and his allies, and the former reality star even snapped at a reporter for asking about the situation.
“Jon Ossoff said that you’d rather travel with your aide Natalie Harp and build the ballroom than do your job as president. What is your response?” CNN’s senior White House correspondent Kristen Holmes asked Trump on Monday, August 17.
Afterward, the White House’s Rapid Response account fired back on X.
“@KristenhCNN is a disgraceful, humiliating embarrassment to her alleged profession,” the message read.
However, the account didn’t stop there.
“Someday, your children will come across your disgusting and inhumane question,” a followup message read. “They will be sickened and embarrassed to have a parent be so callous and vindictive. It’s quite troubling.”
CNN later condemned the White House’s attacks on Holmes in a statement of their own shared via X, writing, “We stand firmly behind Kristen and reject these attacks in the strongest possible terms.”
