Firefighters in Virginia say a residential fire sparked by a clothes dryer was quickly extinguished Tuesday night.

Chesterfield County Fire and EMS said crews responded at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to a reported fire on the 4000 block of Squire Hill Court in Richmond. They arrived to find smoke coming from the windows of one of the townhomes. Inside, they found a fire in a clothes dryer.

Photos shared by the fire department show the burned appliance and a pile of what appears to be burned clothes outside the townhouse on a sidewalk, alongside a burned door that had been removed from the home.

The fire department said the fire was “contained to the area around the dryer” and marked under control in less than 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
