Chucky, the body-jumping killer doll from the Child’s Play movies, may be a lot of things, but he draws the line at being a Republican.
On Tuesday, November 3, as Americans went to the polls for the midterm election, President Donald Trump supporter Nicki Minaj went to X to urge her fans to vote. Alongside the caption “HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!! ♥️🇺🇸✨,” she shared an AI-generated photo of Chucky in an all-pink suit, wearing a red “Vote Red” button.
Minaj, 43, has been a longtime fan of the horror icon, even dressing up as Tiffany Valentine, the so-called “Bride of Chucky,” alongside husband Kenneth Petty, who dressed as the doll himself for Halloween in 2019.
The creator of the character, however, called out the rapper for her post — calling her Chucky an “IMPOSTER.”
“CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION,” writer-director Don Manciniresponded to the “Starships” singer’s post.

On his own X page, he also shared a picture he took of the doll wearing an “I Voted” sticker. Mancini, 63, captioned the post, “Chucky has a trans kid. Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE is coming, as BLUE as my [expletive] eyes!”
In the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky and Tiffany have a genderfluid child, who goes by Glen/Glenda or GiGi. In one episode of the Chucky TV series, the doll is even asked if he’s “cool” with having a queer child, with the killer responding, “I’m not a monster.”
