Chelsea Handler Mocks the Way Timothee Chalamet Promoted ‘Marty Supreme’: ‘Leo Wouldn’t Do That’

Chelsea Handler mocked the way Timothée Chalamet promoted Marty Supreme, arguing that the 30-year-old actor is maybe trying a little too hard to get recognition for his talent.

Handler, 50, appeared on the Tuesday, January 13, episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, where she and host Amanda Hirsch discussed Chalamet’s press tour for the movie — which earned him a Golden Globe on Sunday, January 11 — and agreed he was taking the promotion and awards campaign “too seriously.”

“He seemed pretty serious about winning and getting acknowledged for his great acting,” Handler said, per Page Six.

She went on to acknowledge the A Complete Unknown actor’s talent, but argued, “It’s hard to hear someone talk about how great they are at acting.”

Hirsch, 37, brought up Leonardo DiCaprio, saying that as much as he shot for an Oscar before ultimately getting one for the 2015 movie The Revenant, he would never brag about his own work the way they believe Chalamet is.

“Leo wouldn’t do that. Leo is a movie star. He wouldn’t talk like that. That’s new,” Handler agreed. “I haven’t heard any actor kind of talk like that.”

The conversation took a turn toward Chalamet’s relationship with Kylie Jenner, who he thanked during his Critics’ Choice Awards acceptance speech.

“I don’t understand what that situation is. Is that a real situation? Are they in love? Are they a couple?” Handler asked, also describing Chalamet’s assertion that he “couldn’t have done this” without her as “ridiculous” and “stupid.”
