CBS Searching For a ‘Photogenic’ Male Anchor to Take on ABC’s David Muir and NBC’s Tom Llamas
Insiders tell Straight Shuter CBS is quietly hunting for a younger, hotter male anchor to take on ABC’s David Muir and NBC’s Tom Llamas — both of whom have been pulling in viewers (and headlines) with their mix of polished credibility and camera-ready charm.
“CBS brass have decided the next phase has to be sex appeal meets substance,” one senior insider dishes. “They’re watching ABC and NBC clean up with handsome guys who play well on TikTok and primetime.”
Executives are said to be auditioning male correspondents in-house and scouting cable talent who fit the bill. “They’re looking for someone smart, fast, and yes — photogenic,” another source adds. “They want the next generation’s face of the news, not the old-school anchor look.”
As one rival anchor sniped: “CBS doesn’t want gravitas anymore — they want glow.”
