Bryan Kohberger May Have Been at Target at Same Time as Idaho Four Roommate Before Stabbing Spree

Bryan Kohberger may have crossed paths with one of the University of Idaho student living in a house together in Moscow, Idaho, three days before his brutal stabbing spree.

“This nugget from police supplementals,” Fox News Digital journalist Michael Ruiz posted on X on Wednesday December 31. “Kohberger and one of the surviving roommates were in the same place at almost the same time.”

The post featured a segment from police records and described a receipt from Target seemingly found at the scene of the crime following the November 13, 2022 murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.

According to the record, someone with the initials B.F. (presumably roommate Bethany Funke) used their debit card to make a purchase at the Moscow store on November 10, just after 4 in the afternoon.

Kohberger, who lived about 15 minutes away in Pullman, Washington, “was a Target on the same day,” the record reads, but completed his transaction at 5:42. “It is unknown if Kohberger and [Funke] were in Target at the same time.”

Funke and Dylan Mortensen were the only two roommates to survive.

“I still carry so much regret and guilt for not knowing what had happened and not calling [911] right away,” she confessed in an impact statement read at Kohberger’s sentencing hearing in July. “Even though I understand it wouldn’t have changed anything—not even if the paramedics had been right outside the door.”

“I was so frantic that morning and scared to death, not knowing what happened,” she added. “That was the worst day of my life and I know it always will be…. After everything happened, I was afraid to go into my own backyard or alone in my house. I was scared that the person who did this would come for me next.”

Kohberger is serving four life sentences at Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
