A Black woman is going viral after claiming that becoming a “MAGA republican” made her realize she had been raising her children to be racist — and introduced her to what she called a “whole new world” of acceptance.
X user Mila Joy shared the woman’s TikTok video on Monday, June 29. As of Thursday, July 2, the clip has been viewed more than 37,000 times on X and retweeted close to 1,000 times.
The woman begins by reflecting on her political shift, saying it forced her to rethink long-held beliefs.
“It is so hard for me to sit here and realize how racist I was actually raising my children to be. I thank God that this existential election happened this past year to force me to do some research on my own,” she began.
She went on to explain that her experiences led her to reevaluate who had caused her harm throughout her life.
“When you think about it, all the pain, the harm, physically and mentally, and financially that was done to me, it wasn’t done by white people. It was done by people that look like me, that talk like me, that live around me, in the same neighborhood as me,” the woman in the video continued.

The woman said that after publicly identifying herself as a MAGA Republican, she’s receiving “even more harm,” adding that the current “harm” she’s received is “not being done by white people unless they’re liberal white.”
She contrasted that experience with what she says she’s found within Republican circles.
“Nevertheless, I have experienced more love, I have experienced more acceptance, I have experienced more encouragement and support being a MAGA Republican than I have being a Democrat for over five decades,” she continued.
Although she did not specify how many children she has or their ages, the mother said embracing her new political identity has exposed her family to a “side of life I didn’t know existed.”
“I didn’t know you could hang with white people and have fun. I didn’t know you can hang with white people and actually have a blast and actually get along and actually have things in common,” she said, adding that “bringing my children to experience” it has been the most rewarding.
She described the experience as transformative, while also criticizing the reaction she’s received.
“It’s like a whole new world and we love it. It’s just the hate you get for it. It’s crazy. I feel like, you don’t get this much hate being in an interracial relationship, but when you in an interracial political ship, it’s a problem,” she concluded. “That’s crazy to me!”
