Rocker Axl Rose is a greedy egomaniac who blew up his band Guns N’ Roses by gobbling half of the group’s profits while demanding that the other members follow his tyrannical rules, according to accusations leveled by the former manager of the once-heralded rockers.

Alan Niven managed the hard-charging L.A. fivesome when they were once seen as the next Led Zeppelin in their ’80s heyday, and now blames the preening, self-promoting 63-year-old frontman for their downfall.

“It’s a control thing,” Niven says. “Axl takes 50 percent of the income of Guns N’ Roses now … 50 percent, okay? That, to me, is anathema. He is not Guns N’ Roses. They
were five individuals. It was a chemistry.”

Niven recalls when the band’s smash 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, became one of the best sellers of all time but in the past 34 years, the group has released just one album of cover songs, and one that featured only Rose as an original member.

“Axl wants control of everything — all the time,” Niven says. “And look what that gets you. A boring solo record. And that’s it!”

While original members Duff McKagan and guitar god Slash rejoined the band in 2015 and still tour with Axl, a source claims they only do it for the money — while forced to follow Rose’s dictates.

“Duff and Slash get peanuts compared to what Axl hauls in from touring, but they figure it’s better than nothing,” the source says.

“But they can’t stand Axl, and honestly, few people can. He just acts like an ass and thinks he’s the most brilliant man in music. He ruined the band’s legacy and the heights they could have reached.”
