Authorities have reportedly begun searching Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in New Mexico after files released on January 30 included unsubstantiated claims that bodies may be buried on the property.

TMZ reported on Tuesday, March 10, that the New Mexico Department of Justice has been working in coordination with Don Huffines, the new owner of the ranch.

“The New Mexico Department of Justice appreciates the cooperation of the current property owners,” a statement from the agency read, per CBS News. “Prosecutors will continue to keep the public appropriately informed, support the survivors, and follow the facts wherever they lead.”

A source told the outlet that the search has been culminating over the past few weeks and that Huffines is “very happy that the search is taking place.”

Authorities are expected to share their findings with the public if anything is uncovered, according to TMZ, and right now, the main focus is to determine whether or not any bodies have been buried on the property.

One tip included in the files alleged that an unidentified person received an email offering “seven videos of sexual abuse and the location of two foreign girls buried on Zorro Ranch.”

Epstein first purchased the ranch in 1993 before building a mansion and a private runway on the property. He owned the land until his death in 2019. It was sold by his estate in 2023.
