As the host of Bravo’s Real Housewives reunions and much more, Andy Cohen is used to being surrounded by angry women. However, it’s former fitness guru Jillian Michaels’ behavior during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live 13 years ago that sticks out to him the most.

“She was furious. I should watch it back, if I cared,” Cohen, 57, said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, January 27. “I don’t see what she was upset about.”

The dad of two said the incident happened when Michaels, 51, was finished with her episode. It appeared as though she had been in good spirits throughout the show, but Cohen said something changed as she was leaving.

“She left and she was screaming at my staff,” he explained. “And if you scream at my staff, that’s kind of it for me.”

Cohen referenced remarks she made about slavery during a 2025 appearance on CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillip, saying, “She seems to be the leading expert on slavery somehow. I don’t think there’s a market for that.”

He also added that even if Michaels was invited back to WWHL, he doesn’t “think she would come.”

Years after her appearance on the late night talk show, Michaels fired some shots at Cohen and the Real Housewives franchises as a whole, telling Life & Style in 2018 that she “never” watches those shows.

“I hate that s**t,” the former Biggest Loser host said. “I hate watching women tear each other apart. Anybody who watches it, shame on you.”

Michaels also took a dig at Cohen saying that the series was “created by someone that hates women!… I mean, the guy hates them. He’s an a**hole.”

While Scott Dunlop is actually the producer behind the popular Bravo series, Michaels’ comments were widely interpreted as her taking aim at Cohen.

Cohen later addressed the comments from Michaels and said that he “loved women,” but that did little to squash the feud between the two.

“We’ve not been friendly for years,” she told Us Weekly in 2019, adding that she felt like Cohen was “extremely rude” as well as “condescending and unprofessional.”
