Police in Texas are warning women not to accept flowers from strangers after multiple women mysteriously fell ill after receiving yellow roses from a man at a Walmart store.

The Brenham Police Department said late Tuesday they are seeking the public’s help identifying an unknown suspect who was distributing yellow roses to women at the Walmart store in Brenham, about 75 miles northwest of Houston.

“Reports indicate that multiple recipients of these roses have experienced sudden illness shortly after receiving them,” police said.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect, who was wearing glasses and a black or dark-colored hooded jacket.

“Authorities urge the community to remain vigilant and avoid accepting flowers from strangers,” police said.

Police are asking anyone who received a yellow rose under similar circumstances and became ill, or knows someone who did, to seek medical attention and report the incident to law enforcement.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to call 911 or the police department, or submit an anonymous tip.
