Will Ferrell Channels Stevie Nicks To Sing ‘Pay Your Own Way’ In New PayPal Commercial

PayPal has released a follow-up to its 2024 ad featuring Will Ferrell paying with PayPal “everywhere,” with the actor returning to showcase the range of checkout options available through the platform.

In the latest commercial, Ferrell performs a reimagined version of Fleetwood Macs “Go Your Own Way,” highlighting the versatility of PayPals payment methods. Debuting during the basketball playoffs on Saturday, the national ad campaign features Ferrell using PayPal to shop for a wide assortment of items — from plane tickets to nachos — all while singing revised lyrics that emphasize the ability to “pay your own way.”

“It all started with a song about paying where you want. And here we are — crooning about paying the way you want. Credit card? Sure! Debit? Go for it. Pay later? Why, of course! Monopoly money? Not quite, but I’m working on it,” Ferrell said. “It’s great to partner with PayPal again — not only has it made me a smart shopper, but the ads are cementing my reputation as the greatest singer of all time.”

The new campaign highlights PayPals recent updates focused on simplifying and enhancing the checkout experience, including biometric logins, reduced page load times, and pre-qualified spending limits for its Pay in 4 installment option. PayPal also recently introduced tap-to-pay through the PayPal Debit Mastercard, allowing users to earn 5% cash back on up to $1,000 in monthly spending within selected categories — now including rideshare and public transit.

The campaign will run across multiple platforms, including digital, streaming, out-of-home, podcast sponsorships, and social media. The effort is designed to remind consumers of the flexibility PayPal offers — whether using a bank account, debit or credit card, PayPal balance, or Buy Now Pay Later options.
