The driver of a semi-truck was safely rescued in Kentucky on Sunday after a crash left the trucks cab dangling over an overpass.

The Louisville Fire Department and Louisville Metro Police responded to a crash just south of the Kennedy Bridge on Interstate 65 at around 9:47 a.m. Sunday and found the cab of a semi-truck “precariously hanging” over the overpass, the fire department said.

A video shared by the fire department show crews using a high-point rope system to lower a rescuer over the cab. The rescuer can be seen pulling the driver out of the cab, and both were hoisted to solid ground. The rescue operation took around 30 minutes, the fire department said.

The truck driver was transferred to Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Services, but no injuries were reported.

“Yet again, our citys first responders worked together quickly to help save the driver,” the fire department said. “Were also grateful to report the driver wasnt hurt in the crash and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.”

According to police, the semi was “jackknifed,” but did not specify whether any other vehicle was involved. Police told WLKY preliminary investigation indicated the truck driver lost control and struck the rail of the bridge.
