A California town is giving away complimentary stays and experiences to first responders who battled the fires that raged through the Los Angeles area earlier this year, and time is running out to nominate deserving firefighters, EMTs, 911 dispatchers, and other responders.

Explore Murrieta, the tourism brand for Murrieta, a town in the Inland Empire, is offering 100 “Relax It’s Murrieta” packages to eligible first responders. Each package includes two one-day passes at the Murrieta Hot Spring Resort, and two nights of room accommodations at an Explore Murrieta Member Hotel.

“In Murrieta, we believe in the power of community and the importance of showing gratitude to those who give so much of themselves,” Patrick Ellis, CEO of Explore Murrieta, said in a statement. “This is our way of saying thank you and ensuring you know how much your efforts mean to us all. We hope this small gesture conveys our deep appreciation for your heroism and dedication.”

Eligible first responders include all those directly involved in the recent fires in Los Angeles and San Diego counties, including the devastating Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire. Career and volunteer firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, police officers and sheriff’s deputies, 911 dispatchers, and search and rescue personnel are all eligible.

“As part of Murrietas hotel industry, we extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders for their dedication and hard work,” John Wang, Managing Director of Comfort Inn & Suites Murrieta and Chairman of the Explore Murrieta Board, conveyed on behalf of the local hotel community. “While our community was not directly affected by the recent fires, we appreciate those who were on the front lines. It is our honor to participate in this initiative and provide a well-earned opportunity for these heroes to rest, recharge, and experience the warm hospitality Murrieta has to offer.”

Eligible first responders must complete the online registration form by Feb 28. Selected recipients will be chosen at random from all eligible entries, and all packages must be redeemed by May 22.

“Responding to wildfires takes a physical and mental toll, and the road to recovery doesnt end when the flames are out,” said Murrieta Fire Chief Bernard Bernie Molloy. “We want to thank Explore Murrieta for reminding us that our dedication and efforts as first responders are truly valued and appreciated. I strongly encourage my fellow first responders to take advantage of this opportunity to breathe, recharge, and feel the gratitude of a wonderful, welcoming community.”
