If you hit it off with Brad Pitt through social media, it’s definitely a case of something too good to be true!

Heartless scammers are using artificial intelligence technology to swindle fans out of big bucks by posing as the Hollywood heartthrob on social media and then fostering relationships with their marks.

One Frenchwoman, called Anne in an interview, lost $850,000 to the scoundrels! And Spanish authorities announced they had busted five people for impersonating the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Oscar winner in a similar ruse that separated two women from about $350,000!

The star’s publicist, Matthew Hiltzik, notes that Brad, 61, has no social media presence.

“It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities,” he says.

“But this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach.”

As The National ENQUIRER recently reported, tech-savvy crooks are now using generative AI that can copy anyone’s voice and image to rip people off, often using relatives or close friends of their victims.

In Anne’s case, she was contacted via Instagram by a person posing as Brad’s mom, and she soon began receiving what appeared to be messages and selfies from the actor himself.

During a phony year-and-a-half-long online relationship, Anne forked over her life savings. The Brad imposter said he needed the dough for kidney treatment because all of his money was frozen during his contentious divorce battle with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

Piling onto Anne’s misery, she was cruelly ridiculed following the interview. One French soccer team jokingly announced, “Brad told us that he would be at the stadium on Wednesday” for a game. Even Netflix France got into the act by promoting four “free” Brad Pitt films. Sadly, Anne, who suffers from severe depression, wound up hospitalized.

“I ask myself why they chose me to do such harm like this,” she says about the scammers. “I’ve never harmed anyone. These people deserve hell!”
