These celebrity parents may have built empires but they’re determined not to hand it all over on a silver platter.

Instead, they’re focused on raising grounded, self-sufficient kids who know the value of hard work.

Whether it’s choosing to donate their fortunes to charity or telling their children to “earn it themselves,” these stars are taking a bold approach to parenting in the spotlight.

And while it may surprise some, they believe that not leaving a massive inheritance is the ultimate gift of independence.

“Hey, you know, you’ve got to row your own boat,” the 72-year-old said about not leaving his $40 million fortune to kids Charlie, 9, and 8-year-old River with wife Emilie Livingston, 42.

The Jurassic Park star thinks it’s essential for his offspring to find their own path.

“It’s an important thing to teach kids,” he said. “I’m not going to do it for you. And you’re not going to want me to do it for you.”

Though the 57-year-old is descended from one of the Gilded Age’s most prominent families, the CNN host said he doesn’t believe in passing on huge amounts of money — much less his $50 million.

“I’m not that interested in money, but I don’t intend to have some sort of pot of gold for my son,” the dad to Wyatt, 5, said in 2021, the year before he welcomed second son Sebastian.

“I’ll go with what my parents said: ‘College will be paid for, and then you gotta get on it.’”

The dad of six (from two marriages) has said he told his kids there won’t be much of his $500 million left after he’s gone.

Adding that he has more than 100 people on his payroll and supports multiple charities, the Fields of Gold singer said his kids understand.

“Obviously, if they were in trouble, I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that,” the 73-year-old explained.

“They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit.”

No free tickets to Flavortown! If sons Hunter, 28, and 19-year-old Ryder want the Food Network star’s $100 million, they’ll have to come and get it.

“I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me. My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral,’” the 57-year-old, wed to Lori Fieri for 30 years, said in 2023.

“And I told my boys, ‘None of this that we’ve been … that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me.’”

The power couple, worth a reported $275 million, sparked debate when they said they would leave it all to charity rather than to Wyatt, 10, or 8-year-old Dimitri. But Ashton, 47, and Mila, 41, won’t completely forsake them.

“If my kids want to start a business, and they have a good business plan, I’ll invest in it,” he said. “But they’re not getting trust funds.”
