A Florida man who became pinned under his car while doing maintenance was rescued by police officers who lifted the vehicle off of him before EMS arrived.

The Tampa Police Department this week shared body-worn camera video of the quick rescue, which took place on Feb. 1. A 26-year-old man was performing auto maintenance at a residence when he became pinned underneath it.

The video shows responding officers working together to lift the car and free the man. Officers then began life-saving care.

“Start CPR,” one officer says, as another calls out, “No pulse, no pulse.”

Another officer says he has an “ED,” referring to an automated external defibrillator, a portable device used to shock a person’s heart when they go into cardiac arrest.

“Thanks to the rapid response of our officers, they worked together to lift the car off him and provide critical life-saving care,” police said. “Their quick actions and teamwork were instrumental in saving his life.”
