Rob Ford Dead Crack Mayor 1
Rob Ford — the Toronto, Ontario mayor who got caught smoking crack on tape — is dead at the age of 46! The controversial character confounded his critics by dying from a rare cancer, though. It was a tragic end to a wild political career that turned Ford into one of politic's biggest clown princes!

The rotund Ford originally shocked Toronto by getting elected in 2010 — even though the city councilman was a college dropout who'd been arrested on multiple charges of domestic violence. Cops responded to a 2008 call to his home, with Rob being charged with assault and threatening to kill his wife.

Getting elected as mayor didn't make things any better at home, though. There were two incidents in 2011 where police rushed to his residence — including a Christmas Day visit where Ford's mother-in-law said he was threatening to run off with his children to Florida!

But the Toronto mayor made international news when rumors began that he was a crackhead. Ford started out denying the charges — but then Toronto police investigating drug-dealing gangs came across video of the mayor lighting up a crack pipe. Rob held a press conference on November 5, 2013, where he casually confessed to smoking crack, plus a few incidents of public drunkenness and the occasional DUI.

"Yes," Rob said, "I have smoked crack cocaine but — am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Um, probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately about a year ago." When asked why he had denied smoking crack in the past, Ford replied: "I wasn't lying. You didn't ask the correct questions." Rob later added that he was looking forward to running for reelection.

But just days later, another video came out of a screaming Rob making multiple threats, including one cry of: "I need f**king ten minutes to make sure he's dead!" Rob never explained who he was threatening, but admitted to being "extremely inebriated" in the video. "You know what?" he added. "I don't have a problem with it!" Then he took a leave of absence to spend two months in rehab.

Rob still tried to run for re-election in 2014 — but, tragically, ended his campaign with the first discovery of a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. His brother joined the race for mayor, instead. That campaign ended in failure, but Rob still managed to win another election that year as a city councilman!

He had already stated that he planned to run for mayor again in 2018 — but then Rob's health got worse. He passed away on Tuesday morning — leaving behind wife Renata Brejniak and two children. Renata was the only wife he'd ever had, too. The squabbling couple had a 16-year marriage — which, once again, had Rob beating expectations!
