Matt Lauer Keeps a Low Profile While Settling into Life on a New Zealand Farm
Where in the world is ex-Today star Matt Lauer? Sources say the 67-year-old has reluctantly relocated part-time to New Zealand and is living the rural life among the sheep.
“He’s trying to build a new life out there — but the desire to matter again, to be seen, hasn’t gone away,” a source close to the situation reveals.
“If he could reinvent himself, he would, but he knows the door back is locked.”
Still, insiders say he hasn’t completely turned the page. “He’s still calling old producers and pitching shows,” says one media insider.
“The fire’s still there — it’s just buried under a few thousand acres of farmland.”
