In a bold step toward transforming physical therapy, LainaHealth — formerly known as IncludeHealth — has officially launched a new virtual care model designed to improve access and cut costs through the pairing of licensed physical therapists and Laina, a proprietary WebAI assistant.

The platform, now validated across commercial, employer, and government sectors, combines real-time motion tracking, personalized care plans, and AI-supported guidance to double patient engagement while reducing episode costs by more than 50% compared to traditional care.

“This is more than a rebrand — its a validated breakthrough. By combining clinical expertise with scalable, ethically-built AI, were transforming physical therapy,” said LainaHealth founder and CEO Ryan Eder. “Currently, 65% of physical therapy prescriptions go unfilled due to long waits, high costs, and logistical barriers. Now, patients can finally access the affordable care they need.”

The platform eliminates common hurdles associated with traditional PT, offering an initial evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) within a week and delivering care via Laina directly to patients’ devices — no downloads or extra equipment required. Patients receive live feedback, regular virtual check-ins with their DPT, and unlimited secure messaging. The average episode costs around $300, with adherence rates more than doubling traditional averages.

“The new LainaHealth model eliminates the friction of in-person physical therapy,” said Thanos Papavasiliou, Head of Clinical Operations at LainaHealth. “With the help of Laina, patients receive attentive, personalized care conveniently from home, with minimal or no out-of-pocket cost.”

In addition to cost savings and convenience, LainaHealth is delivering measurable health improvements. For example, 68-year-old patient Nga Do completed 52 sessions with LainaHealth after years of chronic knee pain, reporting full pain relief and calling the platform surprisingly easy to use.

“I dont even know how to turn on my TV, but I easily did physical therapy with LainaHealth,” she said.

Clinical outcomes remain central to the model. Using its proprietary outcomes engine, LainaHealth captures extensive data, including range-of-motion and functional metrics, which drives personalized care and reduces administrative burdens for partners.

“While others use technology to replace clinicians, our approach fundamentally differs,” Eder said. “We deeply believe the human connection and clinical expertise are essential. Laina enhances this connection, making high-quality care available anytime, anywhere. At LainaHealth, accessible, affordable, and measurable care isn’t an exception — its the new standard.”

LainaHealth is now expanding partnerships across the healthcare industry to scale its innovative care approach.
