During his Friday, October 30, appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher, Rock — real name Robert Ritchie — explained how he got stuck on a phone call with Macron, 48, as Trump, 80, drove away.
“That was funny. Yeah, we’re out golfing. I hate speaking out of school, but this is just a fun one,” Kid Rock, 55, said. “The guy’s taking calls all day.”
“He’s working while you’re golfing. This guy does not stop working. We can all agree on that. He sleeps maybe four or five hours a night,” he explained. “So we’re out there, Macron calls. [Trump’s] like ‘blah blah blah.'”
Rock added, “I’m kinda standing there. [Trump’s] like, ‘Hey, I’m here with the great Kid Rock,’ like Macron knows who I am, and he’s like, ‘Bob, say hello.'”

In an apparent attempt to crack a joke with the French leader, the “All Summer Long” artist took the phone and said, “Hello, Mr. President…I’m from the Paris of the Midwest: Detroit,” pronouncing the city with a faux French accent.
“And Trump leaves,” the artist said, as Bill Maher and guests Senator Ted Cruz and journalist Jim VandeHei, struggled to control their laughter.
“He gets in the golf cart,” added Maher, giggling. “I love that. He leaves Macron on the phone with Kid Rock.”
