Jack Nicholson ‘Filled With Regret’ Over Lost Love Anjelica Huston

Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson is grappling with deep regret as he reflects on lost love and missed chances in the twilight of his life.

Sources tell The National Enquirer he’s in agony over having let “love of his life” Anjelica Huston slip through his fingers.

In fact, the 88-year-old Shining star was so distraught at the thought of his former love in danger during the recent L.A. wildfires that he offered her a place to stay at his Mulholland Drive home.

The 73-year-old John Wick: Chapter 3 actress calls the gesture “heartbreakingly sweet,” but refused — leaving the Five Easy Pieces star empty-handed.

“Jack misses Anjelica — it’s no secret he would love another chance with her,” says an insider. “He was hoping to play the hero to her during the fires.

“She was touched but it didn’t change anything for her. She will always love Jack in her own way, but there’s no interest in a reunion.”

The pair met at a party at his house in 1973, triggering an on-and-off relationship for 17 years until their final 1990 breakup, when devastated Anjelica learned Jack had impregnated cocktail waitress-turned-actress and model Rebecca Broussard, mom of his children Lorraine, 35, and Ray, 33.

While he adores his children, the legendary actor still feels deep regret over the heartbreak he caused Anjelica, who went on to wed Robert Graham, remaining happily married until the sculptor’s death in 2008.

“Jack admits to pals he was terrible and says he can’t believe what a fool he was,” confides the insider.

“She’s the love of his life. He feels like such an idiot for messing it all up because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.”

Meanwhile, the daughter of iconic film director John Huston proved resistant to Jack’s charms — as well as a fighter who beat anal cancer in 2019.

“That was a very serious moment for me,” Anjelica says. “It made me conscious of places I shouldn’t go. One of those places was taking life too seriously and not being able to rejoice in what I do have.

“Now, when the opportunity arises, I laugh, and I try not to make a big deal out of things.”

But as for her previous passion for Jack, “there’s no going backwards,” adds the source. “So there’s not much Jack can do but pine from a distance.

“He talks a lot about how much he regrets the way he treated her. He was unfaithful in the worst possible way because he got another woman pregnant while they were together.
