Businesses worldwide must brace for unprecedented security challenges in 2025 as global conflicts increasingly target corporate entities, according to Global Guardian’s recently released 2025 Worldwide Threat Assessment.

Global Guardian, known for its comprehensive security services and intelligence operations spanning over 140 countries, has identified several key risks. Irregular warfare is on the rise, with adversarial nations like Russia suspected of engaging in up to 100 incidents of arson, sabotage, and cyber infiltration across Europe in the past year.

Furthermore, the threat landscape is being reshaped by the rise of corporate espionage. Drones are evolving beyond mere tools for physical observation to become weapons for cyber infiltration, surveillance, and even intimidation of corporate executives.

As U.S. influence strengthens in its regional sphere, companies operating within the “Amerisphere” — including Mexico — could face heightened risks such as violence, extortion, and supply chain disruptions.

“International business is used to a privileged ‘spectator’ role in geopolitics. That neutrality is now over, and firms need to adjust to the fact that they are players on the field,” said Global Guardian CEO Dale Buckner, a retired U.S. Army Colonel.

With businesses now at the forefront of global conflicts, leaders are urged to remain vigilant and proactive in their security strategies, anticipating these new challenges and adapting accordingly.
