A Georgia police department is commending an officer for heroically pushing a burning car away from fuel pumps at a gas station.

The Stockbridge Police Department said a vehicle fire was reported at a Raceway gas station last week, and Officer T. Hoffman responded to the scene. He arrived to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames just a few feet from fuel pumps.

Dashboard camera video shared by the police department shows Hoffman using his patrol vehicle to push the flaming car away from the fuel pumps.

“Recognizing the immediate and potentially catastrophic danger, Officer Hoffman acted quickly and courageously,” police said. “His swift, decisive action likely prevented a much more serious incident and protected everyone in the area from potential harm.”

Police did not say what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
