New York congressman George Santos could get slapped with up to seven years in prison after the serial liar pleaded guilty to federal fraud and identity theft charges.

Prosecutors argued that Santos, 36, should have the book thrown at him because the Republican’s “unparalleled crimes” had “made a mockery” of the country’s election system.

The disgraced politician was booted from office in 2023 after the House Ethics Committee reported finding “substantial evidence” that he’d violated federal law.

Santos’ sketchy house of cards collapsed shortly after his shocking midterm election victory in 2022. Critics questioned his bombastic life story, which included fake jobs and college credentials — as well as tall tales about being Jewish and saving dogs.

Santos was later arrested by the feds, who cited his “callous theft of money” from donors, alleging he charged their credit cards without their authorization to fraudulently inflate his campaign coffers.

The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York claims Santos’ “unrestrained greed and voracious appetite for fame” enabled him to exploit the system and win at the polls.

Santos had blasted the legal fiasco as a “witch hunt” — until entering his guilty plea and purporting to express remorse.

Prosecutors are asking for the hefty jail term — while Santos’ attorneys are pushing for a more modest two-year sentence, which is the mandatory minimum for aggravated identity theft.

Lawmen also claim Santos has made nearly $1 million through appearances on the video-sharing website Cameo and a new documentary — but has yet to pay restitution to his victims.
