The vice principal at a Florida middle school is facing charges for allegedly making a 13-year-old boy massage her feet and making inappropriately sexual comments to him, authorities said.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began April 4 when the principal of Lake Marion Creek Middle School in Poinciana reported the incident involving the vice principal, 53-year-old Keiva Lark. The Polk County School Board and the Florida Department of Children and Families were also notified.

Lark was placed on administrative leave while authorities investigated the incident, which began when the student was sent to Lark’s office for throwing balled-up paper in his classroom during a test.

The victim and two witnesses told investigators that Lark told the victim to rub her feet “since he didn’t have anything better to do with his hands,” the sheriff’s office said. She removed her shoes, placed her legs across the boy’s lap, and he complied with her request.

A witness reported hearing Lark scold the boy for not doing a good job, and demonstrating how to massage her feet by rubbing the boy’s arm and shoulder. A co-worker reported hearing Lark tell the student to rub her feet like he loved her. A witness also reported hearing Lark tell the boy that she was doing this so he would know what foreplay is when it comes time for him to date.

A witness told investigators that, several days after the incident, Lark admitted to the witness that she had “crossed a line” during the incident.

The victim, meanwhile, told investigators that Lark has referred to him as “sexy chocolate” when passing him in the hallway.

“Lark initially told detectives that this was only a joke, and that she was just trying to humble the victim. Its completely inappropriate for a 53-year old woman to act and talk like this to a middle school boy. Its even worse given that this was an assistant principal and her student,” Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.

Lark later allegedly admitted her actions were inappropriate and unprofessional, but denied saying anything inappropriate to the boy.

She was charged with lewd/lascivious conduct and lewd offense against a student by an authority figure, both felonies.

“This is abhorrent behavior for anyone who works among students, especially an administrator,” Polk County Public Schools Superintendent Fred Heid. “This person no longer has any business being around children. We commend the school principal for immediately reporting this incident, so we could take action and work with the Polk County Sheriffs Office to protect students.”
