A pro wrestler in Florida is facing charges including kidnapping and assault after his alleged victim left a note pleading for help in the restroom of a Jersey Mikes restaurant.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a Jersey Mike’s in Navarre on May 27 after an employee found a “suspicious” note in the restroom. The writer of the note identified herself and the location where she said she was being held against her will.

The employee who found the note, Eleanor Coffee, told NBC 15 news she found the crumpled note wedged next to a toilet paper dispenser.

“She was like, ‘Please help me. I’m at this address in Navarre. I need you to call the police and do a wellness check,'” Coffee told the outlet. She alerted her manager and they called 911.

After reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, investigators identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jordan Williams, a blue-haired professional wrestler who uses the stage name Jayden Steele. According to the sheriff’s office, Williams and the victim had a “documented history with our agency of domestic violence incidents.”

The sheriff’s office said that after they arrived, the victim detailed “repeated assaults, threats involving weapons, and being held in isolation by Williams for a span of several months.” Deputies also observed visible injuries, and she was transported to a hospital by EMS for treatment of suspected broken bones and “other trauma.”

Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnap false imprisonment, battery, and battery by strangulation, all domestic violence felonies, as well as misdemeanor domestic violence battery/touch or strike. He was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail and is being held without bond after pleading not guilty.

“This case represents the strength and coordinated work by my staff and the bravery of the victim,” Sheriff Bob Johnson said in a statement. “Thanks to her courage and the deputies’ swift actions, she is now safe and receiving care.”
