The release of a trove of documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy has reignited debates around one of historys most controversial events, but many experts remain skeptical that there are any groundbreaking revelations.

Investigative researcher and author Rob Roselli has doubts that the recent document dump will reveal the truth behind JFK’s assassination.

“If there were a smoking gun here, why drown it in a flood of paperwork that only raises more questions?” Roselli asks. “Why not release that smoking gun by itself?”

Roselli argues that the sheer volume of paperwork could be a diversion rather than a disclosure, suggesting that the real “smoking gun” evidence remains hidden. The latest release does little to address longstanding suspicions of the political establishment’s determination to withhold the documents for decades.

According to Roselli, these files are likely to reinforce the Warren Commissions original conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. He argues that nothing released so far will definitively unravel the official narrative, which is where the truth lies. The details have been carefully buried and hidden for so long — for both political interests and the government’s desire to control the narrative — that it’s nearly impossible to uncover the whole story, Roselli says.

The documents release, while crucial for transparency, may not satisfy those hoping for new insights into what many consider a major turning point in American history.
