Worried mom Cher fears her drug-challenged son Elijah Blue Allman might relapse after his longtime wife slapped him with divorce papers seeking $6,000 a month in alimony, say sources.

Marieangela King Allman, 37, filed for divorce April 8, just 15 months after the couple reconciled. They’d previously dropped a court fight in which Marieangela accused the 78-year-old showbiz legend of kidnapping Elijah and locking him up in a treatment facility.

“Cher’s worst nightmare is waking up one morning to learn her son is dead, and she’s hell-bent on making sure she’s done everything she can to keep that from happening,” a source tells The National Enquirer.

In the latest legal action, Marieangela cites “irreconcilable differences” and goes after Elijah’s financial jugular by seeking a large chunk of the $120,000-a-year trust fund left to him by his late rock legend dad Gregg Allman, along with a house and lawyer fees, court docs reveal.

“Marieangela is requesting $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support based on marital standard and ability for Allman to pay,” according to legal papers obtained by The Enquirer. “Marieangela is also requesting exclusive use of residence and the parties’ vehicle 2017 Toyota Prius V.”

If Elijah, 48, chooses to keep the car, Marieangela wants an additional $2,000 onetime payment and $500 per month so she can get her own, the papers add.

Cher’s reputation was dragged through the mud during her son’s first divorce bout, when she attempted to force him into a conservatorship.

“I have seen her suffer from depression in the past and I do not believe that she is capable of making appropriate decisions for my estate,” Elijah declared in court documents that persuaded the Believe singer to drop the case.

Some people have speculated that Elijah’s addiction issues triggered the marital strife, but a source close to him tells The Enquirer, “I thought he was doing good.”

Marieangela’s high powered attorney sent The Enquirer a statement after multiple calls for comment claiming that there is no bad blood between the couple — even as Marieangela seeks to gut Elijah’s finances.

“We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish,” she says.

“I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart.

“As we turn the page to this next chapter, we kindly ask for privacy and truly appreciate your understanding.”
