Scary Lucy — the nightmarish bronze tribute to comedian Lucille Ball that was erected in her hometown — is staying put despite fans successfully raising cash to commission a pretty replacement!

And The National ENQUIRER has learned that unexpected save came about because “Scary Lucy” has become a money-making tourist draw!

The creepy original statue, revealed in 2009 at Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron, N.Y., instantly became a joke for looking nothing like the TV icon.

And while a lovely new likeness was unveiled on August 6, 2016 — what would have been Lucy’s 105th birthday — the town’s mayor says the ugly old monument won’t be taken down!

“We left it here because it has been such an attraction,” Mayor Scott Schrecengost said. “We’ve had thousands of people here over the past year from all over.

“We had a family here just last week from Hungary that was in New York and traveled an extra distance just to see that statue itself, not knowing that we had a new one.”
