Irish beauty Roma Downey rocketed to fame in “Touched by an Angel” — but she had heavenly help in real life when she narrowly escaped being shot to death as a child!
Growing up in Northern Ireland, 10-year-old Roma got caught in a raging gun battle between the Irish Republican Army and British troops at a Derry cemetery in 1971.
The young girl was visiting her mother’s grave when a bullet whizzed past, narrowly missing her head by inches.

“Surely I must have had an angel watching over me that day,” she said.
The redhead fled to America in the mid-1990s.
Now wed to “Survivor” creator Mark Burnett, Roma credits her survival during dangerous times for making her who she is today.
“There were shootings and bombings which became a way of life,” she said, “but I still made my dreams a reality.”
