Baywatch hunk David Hasselhoff is devastated and filled with regret over the suicide of his troubled ex-wife Pamela Bach, say sources.

Pamela, 61, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head inside her $2 million Hollywood Hills home on March 5.

“David is shocked and confused by Pamela’s death, but some are saying that there is some guilt over the way he treated her during their marriage, and especially after their divorce,” confides an insider.

The former couple, who shared daughters Taylor, 34, and Hayley, 32, endured a turbulent 17-year marriage marked by fights, boozing, and his-and-her DUIs that led them both to rehab. They also suffered through an equally bitter divorce.

In 2008, David, 72, agreed to pay Pamela $21,000 a month in spousal support and $4,000 in child support. Years later, he managed to whittle the payments to $10,000 a month. Then, in 2016, he “refused” to make any payments, claiming he only had $4,000 in the bank. Pamela insisted he owned valuable real estate and was worth $120 million.

“David now realizes she was a terribly fragile woman who shared his addiction demons, and he left her when she probably needed him most,” notes the insider.

Sources believe the divorce battle left Pamela with emotional scars that contributed to her desperate decision to kill herself.

“She had been a promising young actress when they married, and David helped her career by casting her on Baywatch,” says the snitch. “But once they split, she was largely forgotten by Hollywood.

“Friends say it was he who led her down that destructive path, and when they finally got clean, he had moved on with a much younger woman. Pamela was devastated.”

In 2018, David married Welsh model Hayley Roberts, who was 28 years his junior. At the time, he boasted that he was sober and happier than he’d ever been.

But after Pamela’s tragic death, David admitted being “deeply saddened,” and our sources say her death has shattered his bliss.

As previously reported, both of David’s daughters were embarrassed by their father’s drunken antics in years gone by and begged him to get help. They’ve been silent about their mom’s passing.

Hasselhoff’s publicist says it’s not true he’s struggling with guilt or on the outs with his daughters.

Sources say that everyone in the family is fractured by her loss and healing past wounds will be difficult.
