Barbra Streisand has come out swinging against President Donald Trump‘s continued threats against the Kennedy Center.

Since becoming president, Trump, 80, has repeatedly attempted to get his name added to the front of the building. Each try, however, has been blocked.

This week, per the Associated Press, the center’s board voted to close most of the venue, with Trump claiming it was done for repairs — prompting a federal judge to declare that no changes can be made to the performing arts center without 30 days prior notice.

Amid all this, the Apprentice alum has threatened that the center is “going to close” and that it will “end up being ripped down” if the venue doesn’t move forward with his restoration plans.

Taking to her personal website on Thursday, September 17, Streisand — who received a Kennedy Center Honors in 2008 — slammed POTUS for his posturing.

“In 1964, in the aftermath of President John F. Kennedy‘s shocking assassination, Congress passed legislation designating the National Cultural Center as a living memorial to him. The Kennedy family and other American leaders wanted a meaningful way to preserve his legacy,” the 84-year-old EGOT recipient began. “Re-naming the Cultural Center in JFK’s honor was a fitting choice, because he was a true champion of the arts.”

“In 2008, I was deeply honored to be included in the 31st annual class of Kennedy Center Honorees. For me, and for so many artists, that honor represented something larger than a career recognition,” the “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” singer continued. “It represented a belief in the importance of art to the life of a democracy. That is why what is happening to the Kennedy Center is so galling and painful to witness.”

Bringing up the former reality TV personality’s repeated attempts to add his name to the building, the A Star Is Born actress pointed out how a “humiliated” Trump has since placed a “large tarp” over the façade.

“And now, a thoroughly defeated Trump has announced that the Kennedy Center is being closed for what the completely stacked board describes as a major renovation,” Streisand continued. “Oddly, when Trump’s name was still on the building, there was no discussion of closing it!”

“You can easily imagine my indignation at seeing this revered institution become the subject of such a bitter struggle over one man’s name and unchecked ego,” she added, before writing about what she believes the late John F. Kennedy himself would have wanted for the center.

“The Kennedy Center was meant to pay tribute to a beloved president, and to advance his philosophy that artistic achievement was proof of a free society,” the Yentyl star concluded. “He believed that when the creative impulse cannot flourish freely, a society loses its vitality. Yet another reason why it is so important that Americans exercise their right to vote in the upcoming midterm elections!”
