Country great Alan Jackson is hanging up his guitar and picking up the bottle!

After years of suffering from a crippling nerve condition, the Don’t Rock the Jukebox singer plans to wrap his farewell tour in May and then dive into his Silverbelly Whiskey business.

“It’s not often that trading your day job for a life of booze is a good thing, but Alan’s hoping that’s just how it’s going to work out,” says a close friend.

The 66-year-old crooner founded the brand in 2022, and each new batch is named after one of his 26 No. 1 hits.

“He started Silverbelly Whiskey with forced retirement in mind, something to keep him busy while also keeping some money flowing in,” notes the pal.

It’s a family affair, as Alan’s 34-year-old daughter, Mattie — eldest of his three children with wife Denise — is taking over as the company’s master blender.

Sadly, the Country Music Hall of Famer has been saddled with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an incurable disorder that slowly robs sufferers of the ability to move, similar to muscular dystrophy.

“Alan’s body is breaking down on him,” confides the pal. “He’s at the point Daughter Mattie’s where he can’t continue in the family biz doing concerts.

“That said, he isn’t planning to sit around in a rocking chair and is looking forward to hawking his whiskey. He figures it isn’t much different than selling T-shirts at his concerts, and he believes what’s in the bottle is just as good a product as the country music he’s made!”
