Authorities in Ohio are seeking the public’s help after a 60-ton crane worth more than half a million dollars was stolen from a work site on Monday.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the Kent Power company reported the crane stolen at around 8 a.m. on Monday. The 2019 Kenworth 60-ton Long Boom National Crane was taken from a construction site on Parsons Avenue, near the Eldorado Casinos at Scioto Downs in Columbus.

Detectives say the crane, valued at more than $500,000, was likely stolen overnight or over the weekend.

The suspect or suspects likely have “considerable experience and specialized knowledge” operating such a crane, which, given its size, would be “difficult to conceal and should be easily recognizable,” the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
