1 Person Hospitalized After Vehicle Goes Into Lake Washington

One person was rescued Tuesday morning after a vehicle went into the waters of Lake Washington, near Seattle, officials said.

Eastside Fire and Rescue said it responded to a report of a vehicle in the water at the Mercer Island Boat Launch under the Interstate 90 bridge on Lake Washington shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Rescue swimmers and divers from Eastside Fire, the Bellevue and Kirkland Fire Departments and the Mercer Island Police searched the lake and recovered one patient, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Fire officials did not immediately reveal the patient’s condition.
