One person was hospitalized and several business were evacuated after a car crashed into a building in Colorado on Monday, officials said.

South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle collision into a structure on South Quebec Street in Centennial, a suburb of Denver, Monday morning.

One person was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. No one inside the building was injured. The fire department said all occupants of the building, which houses 14 different businesses, were safely evacuated.

The fire department said the vehicle struck building 6, then struck two other vehicles before coming to a rest inside building 7. The fire department’s technical rescue team worked to shore up the structure in building 6. The building was then turned over to the owner and Centennial’s building inspector.

Fire crews remained on the scene to continue shoring up the structure after the vehicle was removed.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Arapahoe Sheriff’s Office.
